submission rules

The selection process for the Colombia Percussion Project is designed to identify artistic excellence, creativity in percussion writing, and musical innovation. All submissions will be reviewed by an international panel of experts from Universidad EAFIT and the UMKC Conservatory.

  • Open to composers of Colombian nationality or residence
  • One (1) work per composer will be allowed
  • Work must be a percussion duo, trio, or quartet
  • The jury will select 1-3 works 
  • Selected composers will receive a professional recording of their work by percussionists from EAFIT and UMKC and a performance of their work at Universidad EAFIT (Medellín, CO) August, 2027
  • Compositions are due October 15, 2026
  • Selected compositions will be announced on this website on November 15, 2026​
